While they expertly deliver innovation and quality to their customers, Callaway Golf’s previous planning and reporting tool wasn’t making the cut. To evolve their enterprise, the sports giant decided to replace their outdated planning software with SAP Analytics Cloud for planning.
Together with Avvale, Callaway Golf successfully implemented SAP Analytics Cloud across their global enterprise in just 6 months. Now, Callaway Golf has a single, consolidated planning solution that has enabled streamlined expense and asset plans so they can focus on what they do best– revolutionizing the sporting world with cutting edge equipment.
Kuwait Petroleum International refines and markets fuels, lubricants, and other petroleum derivatives in Europe as a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, globally recognized as one of today's top ten petroleum energy conglomerates. Its mission? To provide energy and services, commit to the sustainable growth of the countries it operates in, and embrace innovation and the highest standards to ensure operational excellence.
Q8 embarked on an ambitious digital transformation program aimed at modernizing and simplifying its IT architecture, enhancing operational efficiency.
One of the key challenges was to evolve the existing integration solution based on SAP Process Orchestration (SAP PO), which encompassed over 500 interfaces, by adopting the SAP BTP Integration Suite. The company required a phased approach to migration that ensured operational continuity while minimizing business impacts.
In collaboration with Q8, Avvale's team developed a tailored migration strategy based on an initial assessment of the existing 500+ interfaces. These were categorized by functional scope and technological complexity to meticulously identify the challenges ahead.
The decision to adopt a phased approach, spread over 18 months and divided into five waves, aimed to ensure a gradual and smooth migration. The first wave, completed in three months, involved migrating 80 interfaces. During this phase, emphasis was placed on redesigning the most complex flows to simplify them and optimize maintenance. Adopting industry best practices in design, monitoring optimization, alerting systems, and license management was crucial in ensuring continuity and efficiency throughout the migration process.
Once subsequent waves are completed, the SAP BTP Integration Suite will become Q8's reference platform for all new integrations, ensuring consistency and scalability over time.
Before integrating SAP Analytics Cloud, Callaway Golf's planning landscape centered around SAP's legacy planning solution, Business Planning and Simulation (BPS). While BPS met Callaway Golf's planning needs for many years, the enterprise began to experience limitations with their old solution:
With Avvale experts on their side, Callaway Golf laid out the following goals for their new planning landscape with SAP Analytics Cloud:
When SEM-BPS was the center of Callaway Golf's planning landscape, flexibility was a huge factor that was missing. SAP Analytics Cloud contains powerful scenario planning capabilities that help organizations quickly uncover actionable insights to make data-driven decisions. For Callaway Golf, SAP Analytics Cloud's modern planning functionalities provided users with the ability to:
Through the implementation of SAP BTP Integration Suite, Q8 achieved significant simplification and technological upgrade of its previous complex scenarios. A crucial point was reducing maintenance efforts through industry best practice adoption, enhancing operational efficiency, and tangibly contributing to business sustainability by optimizing resource utilization.
The new iPaaS-based cloud architecture simplified IT infrastructure, enhancing scalability. Targeted testing strategy minimized business impacts, ensuring operational continuity during migration.
Furthermore, the solution aligns with SAP's strategy and supports future integration advancements, facilitating further optimizations towards SAP S/4HANA evolution.
