Naturgy Adapts Agile Approach to Procedures Management

Naturgy is one of the largest international integrated gas and electricity companies, with a presence in 20 countries and 16 million customers. With more than 175 years of history, Naturgy is the leader in gas distribution in Spain and Latin America. The company generates, distributes, and markets energy and services, working to ensure the well-being of people, progress of companies and society, and sustainability of the planet.

The Challenge

Naturgy had a pressing need for a dynamic solution that could manage procedures and tenders in a rapidly evolving business environment. The goal was to stay ahead of the competition by adapting to the growing operation models of the company. The solution had to be flexible and capable of supporting UFD activity, which would enable users to manage procedures and records more efficiently. Speed was of the essence, but so was the ability to make changes on the fly in response to any future needs. With all these factors in mind, the team set out to create a cutting-edge solution that would help the client stay ahead of the game.

The Approach

Avvale approached the development of Naturgy's solution with speed and efficiency in mind, adopting the Agile methodology and utilizing low code tools to quickly create a solution that would automate simple tasks and optimize file tracking and processes. The team also aimed to improve communication with third parties for billing and payment.

One of the key features of the chosen solution is an API Rest, which enables integration with other tools and facilitates data exports for analytics. With this cutting-edge solution, Naturgy can improve its overall business processes, streamline communication, and gain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

The Impact

This new solution has greatly improved the tracking and management of processes and files. As a result, Naturgy gains insight into identifying deficiencies and areas of improvement. This type of visibility also provides a global view of different teams and their workflows.

With a single communications platform to third party vendors, all workflows are located in one centralized system instead of multiple. The invoice creation process has been streamlined and time spent on this task has been reduced.

Combining the low code environment with the Agile methodology allowed the team to adapt to any changes that occurred during development without impacting the delivery timeline-- dexterity that the company still maintains today.
